Determining Safe Wind Speed Operating Conditions on Cranes

Cranes are prohibited from operating in high wind speeds. In order to determine safe operating conditions, an anemometer (or wind sensor) are typically used, mounted high up on the crane. In some countries, the crane cab must be fitted with a high wind speed alarm system to prevent continued use in escalating wind conditions.

Typically in crane anemometer applications, the Gill WindSonic is used, along with a Wind Display mounted in the cab. Wind Alarm team has vast experience in this field and can provide complete crane anemometer alarm systems if required.
